You know you're a busy mom when...
you put on a pot of coffee for an extra burst of energy, but you don't have time to drink it.
Here's a snapshot of a busy moment:
The three children are at the table for lunch. The phone rings just as my three year old has an accident in his diaper (sorry if that grosses you out--I'm used to it) and on the floor. Yes, my three-year-old is still in diapers. We're working on that. I tell him to stay put while I deal with my customer on the phone. He goes to his room and spreads the mess even more. All the time the other two are patiently waiting for me (they aren't always this way), and the two-year-old has managed to make a huge mess of his chocolate chip cookie. It's beyond me how he can make a mess out of the littlest things! Oh, and my cookies are burning in the oven. Eek! What else can happen at the same time? Fortunately, all these things are quickly taken care of, and not every moment is this hectic. For those of you expecting your second or third children, please do not let my comments make you feel overwhelmed. Of course you'll have grace for every moment, and I'm finding that preparation makes the busy moments a lot easier.
