"Ubiquitous"
It's a word I would read over without knowing what it meant, but now I've discovered a clever way to define it. It's something that's so common you don't even notice it. "Ubiquitous" to me is this...

It's the sort of thing where you live right down the road from one and you don't even realize it.

"It's a Seven!"
As I was fixing lunch today, my older son was in the kitchen alongside me watching what I was doing. I have a bad habit of tuning out his repetitious phrases sometimes, and this was no exception. After kids say things so many times, though, you tend to turn to see what they're talking about. I kept hearing him say, "It's a seven!" As I turned to look, lo and behold, he had found a "seven." Take a look at the picture. If you know Benjamin, you'll understand. Who else would look at a microwave door and see numbers?
Benjamin just about read words for the first time today. Again, if you know anything about him, you'll know what a cause for rejoicing this is for us. There have been days I thought he would never learn letters, let alone how to put them together into words. It's delightful to see him start to synthesize all the things we've been teaching him and show us that his future is very bright.
